We are hiring for 5 roles in this unique ex-offender community hub which is just brilliant. It’s a safe space for ex-offenders to come, see a friendly face and get the support they need. They get access to: An onsite gym Music studios Wellness rooms Arts & crafts areas Weekly doughnut and debate clubs (where a support workers discuss the weeks news topics over doughnuts) Cooked breakfasts throughout the week (with the clients getting involved) With the above in place, this provides a lovely setting for you to provide support to your clients. As well as getting involved in the above, you will work with a caseload of clients delivering 1:1 sessions to help them access housing & benefits, register with a GP and dentist, find training courses, provide light touch employment support and supporting around general life skills such as budgeting, cooking and general wellness. You might also have to support clients in local probation services as well. This is exactly how rehabilitation should be done, and the project is amazing. To apply you will have worked within criminal justice before maybe as a prison officer, resettlement officer or probation officer. Alternatively, you might have worked in a role supporting people on a 121 basis such as a project worker, support worker, hostel worker, employment advisor, careers advisor, job coach or recruitment consultant. Alternatively, you might be a criminology grad looking to get their first step on the career ladder and have some experience (either paid or voluntary).
