Hands-on learning. Real-world skills. Real impact. We are looking for a qualified vocational teacher (PGCE/QTS/QTLS) to deliver Barista and Hospitality training to young learners aged 15-18 at HMYOI Feltham. This is a practical, skills-based role teaching young people how to make coffee, serve customers, run a small café space, and build confidence for life after custody. You will be showing them transferable, employable skills in a way that is engaging and meaningful.

The role:

  • Up to 23 teaching hours/week: 3.5 hrs AM + 2 hrs PM (Mon-Thurs), 3 hrs on Fridays

What makes it special:

Your classroom is a café-style learning space designed to mirror real hospitality environments. You will teach everything from making a cappuccino to teamwork, customer service, and taking pride in a job done well. Many of the boys haven't had success in school, but they thrive with practical, hands-on learning. You will need to be resilient, calm, and patient, with a sense of humour and a genuine belief in second chances. The site is secure but safe and well-managed, with experienced support staff, an Ops Manager on the corridor, and a quick response system if anything kicks off.

What you’ll need:

  • A Level 5+ teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, QTLS)
  • Experience in hospitality, catering or barista training
  • A practical, encouraging approach to working with disengaged learners
  • Strong behaviour management and a steady presence

  • 40 days holiday (35 fixed + 5 flexible)
  • Healthcare cash plan
  • Matched pension (4-6%) & life assurance (3x salary)
  • Organisational sick pay
  • A chance to teach real-world skills that stick
