We are currently recruiting for a Functional Skills Tutor to join a programme based in Harrow. This is an initial fixed-term or temporary opportunity (3–6 months) to provide cover, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

The role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs into education, employment, and independence. You will be working with learners aged 16–24 with SEND and EHCPs, supporting them to develop their Maths, English, and employability skills in a practical, real-world context.

The role combines Functional Skills delivery with job coaching, making it a great fit for someone with strengths in either (or both). Each morning, you will typically deliver short, focused Functional Skills sessions (Entry Level to Level 2) in small groups, helping learners build confidence and achieve recognised qualifications.

Following this, learners attend local work placements (such as retail and hospitality settings), where you will support them in developing workplace skills, confidence, and independence. Learners return later in the day to reflect on their experiences, providing further opportunities for coaching.
