Recycling Lives

The Site Performance Auditor will visit both prospective and existing customer sites to assess current waste and environmental practices, using our proprietary audit tool to score performance and identify improvement opportunities. The role reports into the Head of Sector and works day to day alongside BDMs, Account Managers and Supply Chain colleagues - auditing prospect sites to support new business development, and existing customer sites to drive the continuous improvement that underpins long-term retention. The role also plays a central part in shaping how the audit tool itself develops, acting as its most frequent user and its most useful critic.

  • Conduct on-site waste and environmental audits at customer locations, assessing current practices and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyse audit findings to produce clear reports, performance scores and practical recommendations that help customers improve sustainability and compliance.
  • Identify commercial opportunities during site visits and work closely with Business Development and Account Management teams to support business growth.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, providing expert advice on waste management, recycling and resource efficiency.
  • Monitor customer performance over time, supporting continuous improvement and long-term account development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Commercial, Supply Chain and Compliance to ensure audit findings are translated into effective actions.
  • Maintain accurate audit records, reports and CRM data, ensuring information is captured consistently and to a high standard.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of our Site Audit Tool and wider auditing processes. We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious, analytical and passionate about improving environmental performance. You’ll enjoy spending time on customer sites, asking the right questions, interpreting data and turning your findings into practical recommendations that deliver real value. Experience in waste management, recycling or environmental compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, able to build relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities to add value.
  • Self-motivated, organised and comfortable managing a field-based role.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.

  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce desirable) and digital audit tools.
