The Opportunity
This role will involve becoming a key member of our production team, working closely with Technicians, Project Managers and Engineers.
The role will be flexible to the needs of the team, with some weeks focusing on in‑house project builds and others on improving workshop efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical assembly, quality testing and installation of our Quanti Sort and Quali Bot electrical assemblies in workshop and on‑site.
- Development, building and testing of the sub‑assemblies that make up all our product streams.
- Maintaining component traceability and ensuring the highest quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any assembly issues or discrepancies to maintain production schedules while communicating improvements back into the process.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in a hands‑on technician role in an industrial engineering environment.
- Power and control wiring aptitude a must.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and report errors or oversights.
- Familiarity or training on electrical standards such as BS7671 and 60204.
- Strong problem‑solving mentality for engineering challenges.
- Ability to interpret engineering information in multiple formats – assembly instructions, 2D drawings, 3D CAD assemblies.
- Route and terminate pneumatic lines, wiring/cabling and electrical conduit.
- Confidence using workshop and power tools with knowledge of safe handling.
- Keen eye for detail and a proven ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Willingness to deal with ambiguity as we grow, and to iterate and improve building processes and design.
- Open to occasional weekend work (with time in lieu).
- Based within a commutable distance to Stratford, London, to work on‑site 5 days a week.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
