About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Area Sales Executive to join our growing Commercial Waste & Recycling division. In this field-based role, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our full range of Hazardous & Commercial Waste Management and Recycling solutions to commercial customers across Northamptonshire and neighbouring counties. You will play a key role in driving regional growth, building strong client relationships, and representing our brand with professionalism and expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within commercial and industrial sectors.
- Promote hazardous, clinical, and general waste collection, treatment, and disposal services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Conduct site visits to assess customer waste streams and recommend compliant solutions.
- Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and service agreements.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing to achieve sales targets and profitability.
- Ensure all services comply with UK environmental legislation (Environment Agency, Duty of Care, Hazardous Waste Regulations).
- Maintain accurate records of customer activity using CRM systems.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
- Work closely with operations, transport, and compliance teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Follow up leads, tenders, and inbound enquiries to maximise conversion rates.
- Support customers with documentation requirements, including waste transfer notes and consignment notes.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Promote safe handling and storage of hazardous materials.
- Ensure customers understand their Duty of Care responsibilities.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations (COSHH, ADR awareness, Hazardous Waste Regulations).
- Follow company Health & Safety policies during site visits.
Skills & Experience
- Experience within waste management, environmental services, or hazardous waste (desirable).
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to understand technical and regulatory requirements.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
