Are you an experienced Quarry Manager, Assistant Quarry Manager or Section Manager looking for your next challenge?

We're recruiting for a key operational leadership role within a well-established sand and gravel operation in Cheshire.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the quarry, leading the operational team while driving safety, production and continuous improvement across the site.

This isn't simply a supervisory role.

You'll become the Operations Manager's right-hand person, taking ownership of quarry performance and stepping into full site leadership whenever required.

The Role

Working within a busy sand and gravel operation incorporating dredging, processing and drying, you'll play a key role in ensuring the quarry operates safely, efficiently and to the highest operational standards.

You'll be responsible for

  • Leading the day-to-day operation of the quarry.
  • Driving an industry-leading health, safety and environmental culture.
  • Managing production performance, quality and operational efficiency.
  • Leading, coaching and developing operational teams.
  • Working closely with maintenance to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime.
  • Managing budgets, KPIs and operational reporting.
  • Ensuring legislative and company compliance across the site.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Acting as the senior operational leader whenever the Operations Manager is away.
  • We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally come from an aggregates, quarrying, mining or heavy industrial processing background and have experience leading operational teams within a production environment.

You’ll have experience in

  • Quarry or heavy industrial operations.
  • Health & Safety leadership.
  • Managing production and operational performance.
  • Team leadership and staff development.
  • Fixed plant and production processes.
  • Continuous improvement.
  • Working within safety-critical environments.

Experience within sand and gravel operations would be advantageous but is not essential.

Recognised quarrying or health & safety qualifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH or Quarry Technology are welcomed, although practical operational experience will also be considered.

Why Apply?

  • Join one of the UK's leading construction materials businesses.
  • Genuine progression opportunities into senior operational leadership.
  • Modern, well-invested operation.
  • Significant autonomy and responsibility.
  • Long-term career development.
  • Stable, well-supported business with continued investment.
