We’re working with a well‑established and growing law firm who are looking to appoint a Senior Practice Operations Lead to play a key role in the firm’s next phase of development. This opportunity will appeal to someone from a legal environment who understands how law firms truly operate — from billing and lock‑up, to cash flow, capacity, client experience, and people performance — and who is now looking for a genuine seat at the table. The Role
Working closely with the Managing Director and senior partners, you’ll act as a trusted commercial and operational lead, helping ensure that systems, structures, and behaviours across the practice support both profitability and client care. You’ll have real ownership — not just oversight — and the authority to introduce structure, consistency, and commercial discipline where it adds value. Your focus will include:
- How and when work is billed, and how cash flows through the firm
- How effectively fee‑earners are supported to work productively and profitably
- Whether systems, data, and processes genuinely enable lawyers to deliver their best work
- How support teams, governance, compliance, and risk are managed behind the scenes
You’ll be comfortable partnering with senior lawyers and stakeholders, confident working with financial information, and pragmatic in your approach. You’ll understand that the best operations in a law firm are often invisible to clients — yet fundamental to everything they experience.
