The Impact You’ll Make
As a Compound Management Scientist at Recursion, you will be a key contributor to our mission to accelerate drug discovery. By ensuring that compounds flow seamlessly through our highly automated ecosystem, your work will directly bridge the gap between compound logistics and our advanced automation cells. By ensuring high-quality, assay-ready reagents are delivered rapidly to our screening scientists, you will help us move toward a future of 24/7, unattended, autonomous discovery.
The Team You’ll Join
You will be joining the Compound Management team, a collaborative group at the heart of our discovery engine. This team is responsible for the critical task of provisioning drug candidates and reagents for our R&D laboratories, working daily with state-of-the-art robotic platforms and laboratory automation.
Responsibilities
- Operate Automated Platforms: Run and maintain state-of-the-art automated workcells and liquid handling platforms.
- Execute Core Logistics: Perform essential compound management workflows, including the receipt, weighing, solubilisation, and formatting of solid and liquid compound stocks.
- Manage Inventory: Oversee onsite automated compound storage and ensure robust sample tracking and data integrity.
- Collaborate Cross-Functional: Partner with biologists, data scientists, and engineers to troubleshoot equipment, optimize workflows, and ensure the timely delivery of compounds.
- Drive Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and quality of our sample management processes.
The Experience You’ll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a compound management or sample management role within a pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with automated liquid handlers.
- Experience with automated platforms is a strong plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests and timelines while maintaining high data quality standards.
- A passion for working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Working Location & Compensation
This is a full-time lab-based position at our office located in Milton Park, Abingdon, UK. At Recursion, we believe that every employee should be compensated fairly. Based on the skill and level of experience required for this role, the estimated current annual base range for this role is £52,000 to £57,800 (GBP). You will also be eligible for an annual bonus and equity compensation, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
