The Projects Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects from design through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and to the required standards. This includes working closely with internal departments and the Senior Projects Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute project activities effectively. The Projects Manager also manages client relationships, ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and satisfaction is maintained throughout the project lifecycle. In addition, the role supports the development of junior team members through training and mentoring, helping to build capability and drive continuous improvement within the team.
Key responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Manage project timelines, milestones, and dependencies to ensure smooth delivery and successful outcomes.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations, addressing concerns, and providing regular updates on project progress. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, ensure alignment with business objectives, and maintain strong working relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risk, Resource & Quality Management: Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate project risks to minimise impact on delivery. Manage and allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal utilisation and achievement of project goals. Ensure all deliverables meet required quality standards and client specifications.
- Reporting & Governance: Prepare and present clear, detailed project reports to senior management and clients, highlighting progress, key milestones, risks, and issues. Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall performance.
- Compliance: Ensure all technical aspects of the project have been reviewed, verified, and formally approved prior to execution and delivery. Ensure operational policies and procedures are consistently adhered to across all project activities.
- Subcontractor Management: Manage subcontractors throughout the full project lifecycle, including the quoting/tendering phase and onsite delivery of works, ensuring performance, compliance, and alignment with project requirements.
- Health & Safety Integration & Improvement: Integrate Health & Safety requirements into all business processes and project delivery activities to ensure safe systems of work. Identify, promote, and support Health & Safety improvements in line with Recurrent Energy’s continuous improvement philosophy.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a project management or project delivery role within the renewable energy sector.
- Experience delivering projects from initiation through to completion.
- Experience managing subcontractors and third-party contractors, including during tendering/quoting stages and onsite delivery of works.
- Experience working in a Health & Safety critical environment, with strong understanding of field-based operational risk controls.
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a car.
