Our client are a specialist commercial law firm with offices in Liverpool & Chester. With a friendly culture and excellent reputation with their clients, they are now seeking a Employment Law Solicitor to join their fast-growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced solicitor to handle a broad range of employment matters across a varied client base, from SMEs to larger corporate entities, across multiple sectors.

Working closely with an experienced Partner, you’ll enjoy high levels of autonomy and responsibility, with the support of a friendly and highly skilled team.

About the Role

  • Advising employers on a full range of employment law matters under UK law, including day-to-day HR issues, grievances, disciplinary matters, and absence management
  • Handling Employment Tribunal claims from instruction through to final hearing, including advocacy where appropriate
  • Drafting and advising on contracts of employment, staff handbooks, settlement agreements, consultancy agreements and service contracts
  • Advising on reorganisations, restructures, redundancies and TUPE (in both business sales and service provision changes)
  • Supporting corporate colleagues on employment aspects of business transactions, including due diligence and warranty/indemnity drafting
  • Delivering training and updates to clients on employment law developments
  • Contributing to business development and supporting the growth of the employment team

About You

  • A qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in employment law
  • Solid technical knowledge of UK employment law and proven experience managing your own caseload
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to provide practical and strategic advice to employer clients
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • A team player who enjoys collaboration but is confident working independently
  • A client-focused, proactive approach to relationship management and business development
