We are working in partnership with a leading UK law firm to recruit a Construction Solicitor to join its nationally recognised Construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer with at least one year of post-qualification experience to join a growing practice acting on a wide range of complex and high-profile construction matters.

The firm's Construction team advises both private and public sector clients, including developers, local authorities, healthcare providers, education institutions, contractors and consultants. The work spans multiple sectors such as commercial development, transport, health, student accommodation, utilities, housebuilding, and manufacturing.

This role offers exposure to both contentious and non-contentious construction matters, as well as excellent opportunities for long-term progression and professional development.

What you will be doing:

  • Managing a caseload of construction matters, both contentious and non-contentious
  • Assisting senior colleagues with complex disputes and contract advisory work
  • Drafting construction contracts, agreements, pleadings, witness statements and correspondence
  • Advising clients on construction risk management, dispute avoidance and resolution strategies
  • Handling adjudication, mediation and other dispute resolution processes
  • Contributing to client relationships and business development initiatives
  • Meeting financial and chargeable targets while maintaining excellent quality of service
  • Working in line with firm policies and values

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified solicitor with 1 or more years post-qualification experience
  • Prior experience in construction law is preferred, but strong commercial litigation or real estate experience will also be considered
  • Technically sound with strong drafting and analytical skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong team player with effective communication skills
  • Proficient in using legal IT systems and Microsoft Office
  • Flexible, committed and motivated to develop within a leading national practice
