About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Cladding/Façade Designer to join their Design team, responsible for delivering design packages across a range of façade and cladding projects. Working under the Lead Designer, you will take ownership of allocated projects, managing design development from concept through to technical delivery and supporting successful manufacture and installation. This role is ideal for someone with façade or cladding design experience who is confident producing technical drawings, coordinating with project teams, and managing their own design workload across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of design delivery for allocated projects from concept through to final technical issue
- Produce accurate, coordinated, and buildable technical design information
- Manage design progress to ensure project deadlines and milestones are met
- Coordinate with commercial, manufacturing, and installation teams to ensure designs are practical and deliverable
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and external stakeholders to develop design solutions
- Ensure design outputs comply with relevant standards, specifications, and company procedures
- Support resolution of design-related issues during manufacture and installation
- Identify and communicate design risks, constraints, and opportunities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Experience in façade and/or cladding design
- Ability to produce detailed technical CAD drawings
- Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and detailing
- Experience managing design delivery on projects
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Proactive approach to problem-solving
Desirable
- Experience using BIM and Revit
- Experience with document management systems such as Asite or Aconex
- Knowledge of UK construction standards and façade performance requirements
- Experience working on complex or multi-disciplinary projects
