We are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (C+E) for a major chilled and ambient goods distribution site based in Stevenage. This is a fast-paced role involving both trunking and scheduled deliveries to well-known regional hubs and depots.
You will be working with barn door vehicles and tail-lifts (no curtain-siders), and will support basic load security and cage handling (wheeled units only, no heavy handballing). The depot operates seven days a week, so flexibility with shift days is essential.
- Ensure safe loading/unloading using tail-lift and pump truck
- Maintain compliance with UK transport regulations, including manual tacho entries and WTD
- Full UK C+E (Class 1) driving licence, held for at least 12 months
- Minimum 1 year of recent HGV Class 1 Driver driving experience
- 6-hour paid induction and 2-day shadowing required before first solo shift
Weekly pay. Ongoing shifts and weekend availability highly valued. Opportunity for Temp-to-Perm placement for high performers. On-site parking and driver facilities are available.
Pay Rates: PAYE: £18.92 per hour + Holiday on top.
