We are seeking reliable and professional HGV Class 2 Driver Night Trunking to join our client's growing team based in Watford. This role involves the safe and efficient delivery of ambient, chilled, and frozen products to a central distribution point while maintaining high standards of customer care and operational efficiency. This is a great opportunity for experienced drivers who are passionate about providing excellent service and working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shift start time 21:30 - Sunday to Thursday.
- Operate 7.5t/18t vehicles (HGV Class 2 Driver) on pre-planned drop routes.
- Load and unload ambient, chilled, and frozen products safely and securely.
- Accurately complete delivery paperwork and ensure goods are actively transferred at the cross-dock location.
- Communicate with cross-dock hub colleagues to update on deliveries and any changes to the schedule.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, conduct daily vehicle checks, and report defects promptly.
- Follow all legal and company driving standards, ensuring safety and compliance at all times.
- Use handheld PDA equipment to confirm deliveries and manage order processing.
Requirements:
- Licence: Full UK driving licence with a valid HGV Class 2 driver (C category with no more than 6 points).
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience.
- Physical Ability: Comfortable with heavy lifting and frequent vehicle climbing.
- Strong communication skills and a focus on providing excellent customer service.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet delivery deadlines.
