Job Title: HGV Class 2 DriverLocation: WalthamstowEmployment Type: Ongoing, Temp to Perm AvailableSalary Detail: Range: 18.06 - 20.27 per hour Job Description We are currently seeking experienced and reliable HGV Class 2 Drivers to join the despatch team of a major bakery distribution centre in Walthamstow. The role involves multi-drop deliveries of bakery goods to major retailers and distribution points, with an emphasis on physical activity and safety compliance. This is a 7-day operation, and candidates must be available for flexible shift patterns, including weekends and nights. Deliveries are made using barn-door vehicles and tail-lifts, and all product handling is done using wheeled bread dollies. Shift Pattern: Night Deliveries: Schedule: Minimum 4 shifts per week available Drivers typically rotate through 34 regular delivery routes Multi-drop deliveries to supermarkets, petrol stations, and commercial sites Manual handling of bread dollies (pushing/pulling/loading/unloading) Operation of tail-lift vehicles and use of PDAs for delivery tracking Communication of any delays, issues, or compliance breaches to the depot Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence Valid CPC and UK-issued Digital Tachograph Card Minimum 12months recent Class 2 experience (longer preferred) Physical fitness to complete full shifts and handle frequent loading tasks Must hold or be eligible for a Site Passport Card Paid 8-hour induction includes theory test (driver hours, WTD), vehicle check, and site induction Weekly pay via integrated clock-in system Access to canteen, secure entry, and on-site facilities Stable ongoing shifts (minimum 4 per week if trained) Opportunity to move into Temp-to-Perm roles for reliable drivers PAYE: Day Shift: £18.06per hour+ Holiday Night Shift: £20.27 per hour + Holiday To apply, you will need to click apply, or one of our Account Managers will provide a link which will redirect you to our platform, QBIS, and choose one of the following options: Choose this option to complete a detailed digital form and upload the relevant documents required for the job title.
