Job Description:
We are recruiting experiencedHGV Class 2 (Category C) driversfor a busy distribution hub based inStevenage. This is amulti-drop delivery roleinvolving the movement of bakery goods to convenience stores and supermarkets.
All loads are pre-packed onwheelable dollies, and vehicles are equipped withtail-liftsfor safe unloading.
You will be part of a structured operation that values punctuality, professionalism, and strong customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out dailyvehicle checksand maintain proper load security
- Completemulti-drop deliveriesto retail sites (average812 dropsper shift, up to 15 locally)
- Load and unloadbread traysusing roll-on dollies
- Operatetail-lift vehiclessafely and in line with company training
- Complete relevantdelivery documentationaccurately
- Maintain a high standard ofcustomer service, particularly at client-facing sites
Requirements:
- ValidUK Class 2 (C) licence, held for a minimum of 1 year
- ValidUK-issued CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- Maximum6 penalty points no DR, DD, IN or other major endorsements
- Comfortable withmanual handlingof bread trays and early morning start times
- Must complete apaid 6-hour induction, including:
- Written test (Highway Code and Driver Hours)
- Vehicle check (minimum 15 minutes)
- 1-hour on-road assessment
- Willingness to complete a2-day shadowing periodpost-induction
