REC Source is recruiting experienced and flexible HGV Class 1 Drivers for general haulage and store delivery operations. This role includes tail lift deliveries, curtain-sided work, multidrop responsibilities, and occasional manual handling. Drivers should be open to nights out and willing to assist with lower-class vehicles when operationally required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles for general and retail deliveries across the UK.
- Complete manifests and delivery notes accurately.
- Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle checks, including tail lift inspection.
- Carry out multidrop work, including some London routes (up to 10 drops).
- Be available for overnight stays, especially when covering spare shifts.
- Ensure daily tacho card downloads at the start and end of each shift.
Requirements:
- Licence: Full UK Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
- Experience: Minimum 12 months experience driving Class 1 vehicles.
- Points: Maximum of 6 penalty points; no major endorsements accepted. (E.g. DR, IN, CU)
- PPE: Safety boots, gloves, and hi-vis vest required.
Role-Specific Requirements:
- Must be open to driving HGV Class 2 or 7.5 tonne vehicles if needed (while paid as HGV Class 1).
- Capable of completing long-distance hauls and high-volume delivery runs.
- Maintains a neat appearance and professional approach at all times.
- Available for weekend work and flexible with shifts and location demands.
