Job Description:
We are currently recruiting experiencedHGV Class 1 driver (s) (C+E)for a major chilled and ambient goods distribution site based inStevenage. This is a fast-paced role involving bothtrunking and scheduled deliveriesto well-known regional hubs and depots.
You will be working withbarn door vehicles and tail-lifts(no curtain-siders), and will support basic load security and cage handling (wheeled units only no heavy handballing). The depot operatesseven days a week, so flexibility with shift days is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct dailyvehicle checksand report any defects promptly
Ensuresafe loading/unloadingusing tail-lift and pump truck
Deliver goods to regional clients ontrunk or multi-drop routes
Secure loads properly and complete alldelivery paperwork
Maintain compliance withUK transport regulations, including manual tacho entries and WTD
Represent REC Source and the client professionally on site and on the road
Requirements:
FullUK C+E (Class 1) driving licence, held for at least 12 months
Minimum1 year of recent Class 1 driving experience
ValidDriver CPCandDigital Tachograph card(UK-issued only)
Maximum6 penalty points(no DR, DD, IN codes)
Ability to handle cages and operatetail-lift equipment
Must complete awritten test, vehicle check, and 1-hour driveas part of the onboarding process
6-hourpaid inductionand2-day shadowingrequired before first solo shift
