Our client specialises in transporting large and small plant machinery across the UK. The role involves delivering and collecting plant equipment using a fleet of specialist vehicles, including low-loaders, flatbeds, rigids, 7.5-tonne vehicles, vans, HGV Class 1, and HGV Class 2 vehicles. This is a physically demanding role requiring drivers to assist with loading, securing, and unloading equipment while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Early start times from 04:00.
- Monday to Friday operation, with occasional Saturday work.
- Mixture of London-based and nationwide deliveries.
- Minimum 10 hours guaranteed per shift.
- Occasional nights out may be required.
- Night-out payments are made directly to the driver by the client.
Requirements:
- Safely transport plant machinery and equipment to customer locations across the UK.
- Conduct vehicle checks and ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant.
- Load, secure, and unload plant equipment safely and efficiently.
- Use chains, straps, and other securing methods to ensure loads are transported securely.
- Operate low-loaders, flatbeds, rigids, and other company vehicles as required.
- Complete all delivery paperwork and transport documentation accurately.
- Provide excellent customer service when dealing with clients and site personnel.
- Follow all road transport regulations and company Health & Safety procedures.
- Maintain professional standards when representing the company on customer sites.
- Assist with manual handling duties, including moving heavy equipment onto tail lifts where required.
