We are currently recruiting Production Assistants for a busy food processing and packing site in Harlow. This is a hands-on role across various stages of chilled food production, including unpacking, weighing, packing, and palletising products. Full training and PPE are provided. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to build long-term experience in the food manufacturing sector with potential for progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unpacking incoming goods and preparing them for the production line
- Feeding items into automated slicing equipment
- Sorting, trimming, and portioning product for packing
- Weighing, vacuum sealing, and boxing of completed packs
- Palletising finished goods and preparing for despatch
- Rotating across tasks on a fast-moving production line
- Adhering to food hygiene and safety standards at all times
- Participating in cleaning routines and overtime when required
Requirements:
Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Chilled production environment, handling cold and frozen items
- Manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 25kg
- Prolonged standing and movement across the production floor
- Use of ear protection in designated noisy areas
- Strict hygiene policy: no jewellery, makeup, perfumes, or phones in production areas
Candidate Requirements:
- No prior experience required; full training provided
- Physically fit and able to work in cold conditions
- Basic spoken English is essential for health & safety compliance
- Must follow fixed break schedules and wear provided PPE

Pay Rates:
- PRE AWR (first 12 weeks)
- Monday to Friday= £12.30 per hour
- Overtime= £18.45 per hour

- Bank Holiday= £18.75 per hour
