We are currently seeking experienced and reliable HGV Class 2 Drivers to work as part of a Waste Collection Crew in a dual Driver/Loader role for a public sector contract.
As a key member of the waste team, you will be responsible not only for driving a 26-tonne rear-steer dustcart through residential streets but also assisting your crew with the manual loading of bins and maintaining route efficiency and safety.
Shift Pattern
- Monday to Friday
- Early morning starts between04:30 and 06:00 AM
- No guaranteed hours work allocated weekly based on performance and demand
- Some Bank Holiday work may be required
- Operating rear-steer dust carts safely through narrow streets and residential zones
- Leading and participating in bin loading alongside other crew members
- Following collection routes and communicating delays to supervisors
- Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any faults immediately
- Adhering to health & safety guidelines and council regulations
- Full UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
- CPC qualification (DQC Card) Domestic tacho use (Digi card not used)
- Maximum of 6 penalty points (no major offences)
- Experience driving refuse collection vehicles or operating within waste management is highly desirable
- Must be physically fit and happy to carry out loading duties alongside driving

PAYE:
- £14.64/hour(first 12 weeks)
- £17.30/hour(after 12 weeks AWR uplift)
