Job Description: REC Source is recruiting HGV Class 1 Driver(s) (ADR) for a full-time night shift position with a highly respected and well-established logistics client in Basildon. You will be responsible for the safe and timely transport of hazardous freight across UK trunk routes using Class 1 articulated vehicles. This is an ideal opportunity for drivers with strong safety awareness, a good track record in trunking, and a professional attitude toward customers and compliance. Full adherence to ADR protocols and depot procedures is essential.

Day shifts: Monday to Friday, 8-12-hour shifts. Possible weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Class 1 (C+E) / HGV Class 1 Driver ADR articulated vehicles in line with Road Traffic Legislation and the Highway Code.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks, including documentation and reporting of any defects.
  • Use and maintain PPE and safety equipment according to company health & safety protocols.
  • Complete and return all required delivery documents, including PODs and digital entries.
  • Adhere to company procedures, customer site rules, and ADR handling requirements.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and condition throughout your shift.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and customers, especially regarding delays or issues.

Requirements:

  • Valid UK HGV Class 1 Driver (C+E) licence.
  • ADR certification (essential).
  • Driver CPC and Digital Tacho Card.
  • At least 2 years' experience in HGV driving and trunking routes preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and plan routes responsibly.
  • Must hold an up-to-date medical and be fluent in English (spoken and written).
