EPPH is seeking a full-time QHSE Manager to join our operations team. We are hiring for our Ipswich office with site visits as required. This newly formed role is in-line with the growth of our UK business, based in Ipswich, Suffolk. You will be responsible for management of QHSE programs in collaboration with our technical and operational leadership teams. The role will include (but not limited to):
- Develop and implement QHSE procedures ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks within the business.
- Organise and deliver HSE training for staff and senior leaders in achieving a safe workplace.
- Ensure compliance with legal HSE requirements, including necessary certifications and inspections.
- Conduct regular site audits, manage external audits, and collaborate with contractors, site teams, and employees to address remedial actions, leading hazard/incident investigations and ensuring lessons are applied.
- Develop and maintain emergency response procedures, including first aid, fire safety, evacuation protocols, and site-specific contingencies.
- Champion a proactive safety culture across the company.
- Prepare and present safety statistical data, trends and report to senior leadership, offering insights and recommendations.
- Review and manage QHSE performance, engagement and compliance.
- Stay up to date with industry standards, ensuring policies and procedures align with best practices.
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years’ experience in the role of Health and Safety Manager in construction.
- A relevant NEBOSH or NVQ Level 6 or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated experience working with ISO accreditation and Environment standards.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk management systems.
- Possess excellent leadership skills.
- Written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to conduct training sessions and workshops for diverse groups.
- Support the development and implementation of QHSE initiatives.
- Proficient in the use of safety management software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Full clean UK Driving Licence.
- Safety training including Fire, Confined Spaces, First Aid, COSHH, HSG 47, DSEAR desirable.
