Hours: 40 hours per week, single shift Mon–Thur 07:00–17:30

We manufacture heavyweight industrial packaging using plywood and other wood-based materials. Manufacturing involves the use of Beam saws, CNC routing systems and a wide variety of other wood-based production machinery.
Job Purpose
To manufacture bespoke boxes, crates, and pallets incorporating wood, foam, plastic, and metal components to meet precise customer specifications. The Bespoke Packaging Technician will interpret and work from technical drawings to ensure all products are produced accurately, safely, and in line with quality and delivery requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally within industrial packaging or bespoke fabrication.
- Strong knowledge and proven ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
- Experience working with a variety of materials including timber, foam, plastics, and light metal components.
- Competence in the use of hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery (e.g. saws, drills, nail guns, routers).
- Good understanding of assembly techniques and material handling.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties.
- Forklift licence or experience is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Assembly
- Manufacture bespoke boxes, crates, and pallets to customer specifications using timber, foam, plastic, and metal components.
- Accurately interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and cutting lists.
- Cut, shape, assemble, and fit materials to required dimensions and tolerances.
- Install protective and specialist packaging elements such as foam linings, bracing, and custom supports.
- Use workshop machinery and hand tools safely and effectively.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all products meet customer drawings, specifications, and company quality standards.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of components and finished goods.
- Identify and rectify defects or discrepancies before dispatch.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
Productivity & Delivery
- Work efficiently to meet agreed production schedules and delivery deadlines.
- Collaborate with design, production planning, and supervisory teams to resolve build queries.
- Assist with packing, labelling, and preparing completed products for dispatch.
- Support workflow improvements to optimise manufacturing efficiency.
Collaboration & Professional Conduct
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication.
- Demonstrate respect, professionalism, and consideration towards team members at all times.
- Support and assist colleagues where required to achieve shared production goals.
