  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and act as key link between ESF’s central office, tutors, apprentices, schools, employers and regional delivery partners
  • Lead and support tutors and partner organisations delivering PE apprenticeships across the country

ESF’s PE provision is delivered through a combination of internal tutors, freelance specialists and regional hub partners.

Qualifications

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status, QTS, QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Substantial experience teaching Physical Education
  • Experience within a primary, secondary or further-education setting
  • A strong understanding of effective teaching, learning and curriculum development
  • Excellent coaching, mentoring and communication skills
  • Confidence to support and challenge tutors constructively
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with schools, employers, apprentices and delivery partners
  • A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
  • Good digital skills, including experience with Google Workspace or similar platforms
  • Experience of apprenticeships, quality assurance, teacher training, programme leadership or managing tutors would be advantageous, but not essential
  • Location & Working Arrangements

The role is based at ESF’s office in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

Although the position offers hybrid flexibility, it should not be viewed as a predominantly home-based role.

The work includes

  • Delivering training remotely
  • Attending meetings online
  • Visiting schools or employers
  • Supporting apprentices on site
  • Visiting regional hubs or partner locations
  • Working from home where appropriate

Regular travel to schools, training venues, hub sites and partner organisations is required, typically within a two‑hour region from Stevenage, with occasional wider UK travel.
