Leading creative agency specialising in sustainability, environment, energy and technology.
Our client is looking for a motivated individual with a passion for web development and a keen eye for detail to join their fast‑paced development team on a full time, permanent basis. Projects often involve educating and influencing audiences around key challenges, such as the global move to sustainable energy systems. Your work will be seen and used by a global audience to make a positive difference to the world we live in. As an agency with a history of retaining and nurturing their people, the right candidate will have excellent long‑term career prospects within the company.
If you are a driven, ambitious individual with a strong agency background, passionate about self‑improvement and ready to take the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you!
You’ll work closely with their senior developers to build and maintain a range of digital applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This role offers a great opportunity to learn, grow, and advance your skills in a supportive environment.
About You:
- Portfolio: You have the knowledge and experience to produce well‑thought‑out and rationalised solutions. Your work should be able to demonstrate this through 2‑3 project examples, your own personal site and/or GitHub profile.
- Technical skills & knowledge: You’re proficient in modern web development technologies, with strong skills in HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript. Experience with frameworks such as Bootstrap, Tailwind, React and/or Next.js is a plus. You are adept at translating Figma designs into working solutions and have a solid understanding of responsive website development (Flexbox/Grid) which is essential, along with knowledge of web accessibility best practices. You are curious about how AI can support the development process including testing, documentation and creating efficiencies.
- Problem‑solving: You relish putting your problem‑solving skills into practice and have the confidence to work unaided to find suitable solutions or propose alternatives as needed. You adapt to feedback (from clients, or our production lead) and iteratively improve your work accordingly.
- Time management: You are highly organised with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, along with a keen sense of prioritisation and time management from both a deadline and client budget perspective. You take a proactive and flexible approach, that can adapt to demanding business needs and have the confidence and ability to work quickly and efficiently to deadlines, without impacting quality or attention to detail.
- Team / collaboration: You thrive whether taking ownership of your own projects or working with others. You are confident when taking the lead on a project and capable of making your own decisions whilst also delivering value in a more supporting and collaborative role where necessary. You collaborate smoothly with colleagues across different time zones, making the most of overlap while protecting focused development time.
- Communication: Your verbal and written communication skills are excellent, allowing you to clearly articulate your technical approach and solutions to team members, project managers and clients alike.
About us (and what we offer):
- Competitive benefits: Including 28 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, a profit share bonus scheme, a recruitment bonus scheme, an electric vehicle leasing scheme and an annual birthday dinner voucher.
- Access to training: Along with an employee benefits platform and an employee assistance program including wellbeing resources to support and manage physical and emotional health.
- Flexible working: Options for flexible hours are in place to meet the needs of the employer and the employee alike.
- Hybrid working: While the role is predominantly office based, there is the opportunity to work from home one day a week. You should therefore be based within or in close proximity to Surrey/Reigate.
- Collaboration and career growth: A supportive and creative team culture with opportunities for professional development and advancement of skills and responsibility at all levels.
Applying for the role: If you have a portfolio, GitHub profile, or examples of personal/academic projects then we’d love to see them. This can include both polished work or smaller experiments you’ve built to learn and explore. Please include links alongside your CV, with a short explanation for your role and what you contributed to each project.
