Customer Account Manager
Location: Cirencester / Hybrid – 3 days per week in office
Salary: £33,000 – £38,000
Contract: 12‑Month Maternity Contract
Hours: 40 per week, Monday–Friday, 8 am – 5 pm with 1 hour for lunch
Reporting to: Internal Sales Manager

Customer Account Manager Role
As a key member of the manufacturing sales team, you will proactively build and strengthen high‑value customer relationships to consistently deliver budgeted sales volume and value, while securing and retaining preferred supplier status across all target accounts. You will deliver outstanding account management by resolving customer issues swiftly and escalating when necessary, alongside maintaining accurate sales administration, including order processing and data entry.
Role Accountabilities:
- Build and sustain strong, profitable customer relationships through frequent and purposeful engagement with existing and prospective customers.
- Closely monitor and analyse daily sales data to identify trends, address underperforming accounts with decisive action, and proactively promote the full product range to maximise order value.
- Apply effective pricing and negotiation strategies with a clear focus on profitability.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally and work in full alignment with the ISO Quality System.
- Communicate clearly with the Internal Sales Manager and provide general administrative support to the wider business as required.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven commercial account management experience with a strong track record of delivering first‑class customer service.
- Confident negotiator with a passion for building and maintaining customer relationships over the phone.
- Highly self‑motivated, target‑driven and determined to exceed performance goals.
- Strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Numerate and comfortable analysing figures and data, ideally in a technical environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Reliable team player who actively supports colleagues and contributes to team success.
- Able to work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
