Do you enjoy being close to the action, solving technical problems and seeing electrical engineering projects through from design and installation to testing and commissioning? Looking to work across major UK water infrastructure projects where you'll combine your technical knowledge with hands-on site delivery?

CHG Electrical is entering an exciting period of growth, with major frameworks secured across AMP8 and AMP9. We're looking for a proactive, technically capable Field Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of electrical engineering works across our growing portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This isn't simply a design role, and it isn't a traditional Project Manager position. You'll sit at the heart of engineering delivery, working between the office, project teams and live sites to ensure electrical systems are installed, tested and commissioned safely, correctly and to specification.

The Role at a Glance:

  • Location: Sheffield - Hybrid + UK-Wide Site Travel
  • Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 DOE
  • Full Time | Permanent
  • Car Allowance / Van + Performance Bonus
  • 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

Projects: Water | Wastewater | Utilities | AMP8 | AMP9

Engineering: Electrical | MEICA / EICA | Installation | Commissioning

Technical: LV Systems | MCCs | ICA | Pumping Stations | Treatment Works

Knowledge: WIMES | BS 7671 | RAMS | HSE

Essential: Full UK Driving Licence

About You:

You'll already have practical electrical engineering experience gained within water, utilities or industrial infrastructure. You'll understand that good engineering doesn't stop with the drawing. You'll be comfortable getting onto site, working alongside installation teams and subcontractors, interpreting technical information and helping solve the practical problems that arise when engineering designs become physical systems. Experience within water and wastewater infrastructure would be particularly valuable, including environments such as pumping stations, treatment works and process plant.

You’ll Bring:

  • Proven electrical engineering or electrical project delivery experience within water, utilities or industrial infrastructure.
  • Practical experience supporting electrical installation and commissioning activities.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems associated with pumping stations, treatment works and/or industrial plant.
  • Experience working with electrical systems such as LV, MCCs and ICA equipment.
  • Ability to interpret electrical designs, specifications and drawings.
  • Understanding of WIMES, BS 7671 and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing RAMS and coordinating safe site activities.
  • Confidence working with site teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and fault-finding capability.
  • Confidence working across both office and live site environments.
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary team-working skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Why CHG Electrical?

This is an opportunity to join CHG Electrical at an exciting point in our growth. With significant AMP8 and AMP9 work ahead, you'll gain exposure across major UK water infrastructure projects while developing your expertise across electrical engineering, installation, site delivery and commissioning. Rather than being confined to one part of the engineering lifecycle, you'll get to see projects develop from design through to working systems on site.

You’ll Also Receive:

  • £45,000 - £50,000 salary DOE.
  • Car allowance / van.
  • Performance-based bonus scheme.
  • Hybrid and flexible working.
  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Structured professional development and training.
  • Long-term career progression within a growing engineering business.

Ready to Make a Move?

If you’re an electrically biased engineering professional who understands MEICA / EICA project delivery and enjoys combining technical engineering with practical site delivery, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and help deliver the next generation of UK water infrastructure projects with CHG Electrical.
