Who We Are

Threefold is an energy technology company building intelligent battery storage and energy management solutions. Our Optima platform works behind the meter, deciding when to buy, store and use energy based on cost and carbon intensity. Our technology is plug-and-play, independent of solar and designed to operate without disrupting the customer’s business. Led by Founder & CEO Luke Gamble, our leadership team brings experience across energy, engineering, technology, finance and real estate. As we grow, we want to bring the same rigour to our organisation and people experience that we bring to our technology.

Your New Adventure

As our first dedicated People hire, you’ll work closely with Luke and the senior team to help shape the UK organisation as it grows. You’ll:

  • Partner with the Founder & CEO, translating business priorities into practical people actions.
  • Shape organisational structure, roles, reporting lines and capability requirements.
  • Support planned hiring, from defining roles and interview processes through to selection.
  • Create effective onboarding so new colleagues become productive quickly.
  • Establish proportionate UK HR foundations covering contracts, right-to-work, policies and employee relations.
  • Support managers with performance, feedback and people decisions.
  • Help maintain Threefold’s pace and entrepreneurial culture as the team expands.

About You

You’re an experienced fractional, interim or consulting People professional who has supported founder-led or high-growth businesses. You’re comfortable working directly with CEOs and senior leaders, providing constructive challenge while remaining hands-on enough to turn decisions into action. You’ll bring:

  • Strong organisational design and scale-up experience.
  • Recruitment and onboarding expertise.
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR practice.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of how People decisions support business growth.
  • Confidence working with ambiguity and changing priorities.
  • A direct, warm and resilient approach, with the ability to operate independently.

Desirable

  • CIPD qualification.
  • Energy, cleantech, engineering or deep-tech experience.
  • Experience supporting concentrated hiring and organisational change.
  • Exposure to investor-backed or high-growth businesses.

Why Join Threefold?

  • Work directly with the Founder & CEO and senior leadership team.
  • Shape the UK organisation at an important stage of growth.
  • Make an immediate impact across hiring, onboarding and organisational development.
  • Build practical People foundations without unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Work within a fast-growing and innovative clean energy sector.
  • Flexible, outside IR35 engagement alongside other clients.
  • Remote-first working with time in West London.
  • Scope for the engagement to extend as the business grows.
