About Us:

Founded in Sheffield in 2004, CHG Electrical has more than two decades of engineering heritage. Built on strong electrical engineering foundations, the business has evolved into a multidisciplinary engineering partner delivering complex projects across water utilities, rail, steel and manufacturing. Today, our capabilities span MEICA, EICAT, civil engineering, control-panel design and manufacture, automation, software and digital transformation. We support projects from initial design through installation and commissioning to long-term maintenance, combining practical, hands-on engineering experience with modern technology and intelligent thinking.

The Opportunity:

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you'll take responsibility for the successful day-to-day delivery of multiple civil engineering projects. Working closely with Account Managers, Site Supervisors, Design Managers and Estimators, you'll coordinate technical delivery, resources, programmes, budgets and project risks while maintaining excellent HSE standards. You'll also work directly with clients and commercial stakeholders, keeping everyone aligned, resolving issues proactively and ensuring projects meet specification, timescale and commercial objectives.

Where You'll Make an Impact:

  • Lead Project Delivery: Manage multiple civil engineering projects, teams, subcontractors, resources and materials. Control programmes, budgets, risks and variations. Ensure delivery meets scope, technical and compliance requirements.
  • Technical & Commercial Control: Work with Design and Estimating teams on buildability, technical queries, tenders and quotations. Maintain financial control and identify risks early. Report progress and performance to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Clients, Stakeholders & Safety: Lead client meetings and build strong stakeholder relationships. Maintain high HSE standards and ensure CDM and legislative compliance. Communicate project changes, challenges and risks proactively.

About You:

You'll bring proven experience delivering civil engineering projects within utilities or infrastructure and understand the practical, technical and commercial demands involved. You'll be comfortable coordinating multiple projects and stakeholders, managing changing priorities and making confident decisions when challenges arise. Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership of delivery rather than simply reporting on it.

You’ll Bring:

  • Proven civil project delivery experience within utilities and/or infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering and construction methods.
  • Experience managing complex programmes, budgets and resources.
  • Confidence managing project teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including costs, variations and project risk.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and CDM regulations.
  • Strong client and stakeholder management capability.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with project management and reporting tools.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Why CHG Electrical?

You'll be joining a growing engineering organisation where you'll have genuine responsibility for delivery and the opportunity to influence how projects are run. You'll work across varied utilities and infrastructure projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and continue developing your expertise as the business grows.

You’ll Also Receive:

  • £50,000 - £60,000 salary DOE.
  • Car allowance and fuel card.
  • Performance-based bonus scheme.
  • 25 days' annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
