About the Role

We’re working with a firm who are looking for an experienced Head of Wills and Probate to lead a focused department dealing with Wills, Probate, and Estate Administration. Based in their Manchester office, this is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor who is confident in handling this area of law and wants to take the next step by building and leading their own team. This role combines fee-earning work with team development, giving you the autonomy to set up and shape a growing department while continuing to deliver high-quality client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the Wills and Probate department
  • Manage a caseload including:
  • Drafting and updating Wills
  • Probate and estate administration
  • Supervise and support junior staff as the team develops
  • Implement efficient systems and processes within the department
  • Contribute to business development and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations
  • About You

    • Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years PQE in Wills and Probate
    • Confident managing a varied caseload independently from start to finish
    • Experience supervising or mentoring others
    • Strong client care skills and an organised, proactive approach
    • Comfortable taking initiative and building something from the ground up
    • STEP qualification (or working towards it) is a plus, but not essential
