The SDR Manager will lead the outbound sales development function, initially taking responsibility for an established offshore outbound team and a proven, data-driven sales playbook. The successful candidate will also recruit, train and manage a new South Africa-based SDR team as the function expands. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring someone who can personally test new outbound strategies, establish what works and implement successful approaches across the wider team. The successful candidate will need to be able to work UK hours.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least four years’ experience in an SDR, BDR or sales development role.
  • Meaningful experience in a leadership, team lead, management or player-coach position.
  • Significant team leadership experience, including building or developing an SDR team.
  • Strong personal outbound sales and prospecting capabilities.
  • Proven experience in cold calling, email prospecting and multichannel outbound campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to work towards defined KPIs and consistently generate sales pipeline.
  • Experience selling to or prospecting Marketing leaders, including CMOs, VPs of Marketing and Demand Generation leaders, and/or Sales and Revenue leaders.
  • Experience within Martech, sales technology or a closely related B2B SaaS environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience or strong exposure to outbound-focused organisations where structured outbound processes and performance standards are prioritised.
  • Experience coaching SDR performance, developing outbound strategies and remaining actively involved in prospecting.
  • Strong experience working with complex datasets and data enrichment platforms such as Clay or an equivalent tool.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern outbound sales methodologies, AI-assisted outbound workflows and dialling platforms.
  • High-energy, articulate, coachable, resilient and commercially minded.
  • Self-motivated and able to assume responsibility for an existing team while simultaneously building and scaling a new local team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the existing offshore outbound team’s daily activities.
  • Establish targets and maintain accountability for performance and pipeline delivery.
  • Recruit, onboard, train and manage a new South Africa-based SDR team.
  • Provide in-person management and support to the local team as it expands.
  • Take full ownership of the existing data-driven outbound sales playbook.
  • Manage outbound activities combining LinkedIn social selling and email sequencing.
  • Operate as the lead SDR during the initial stages of building the local team.
  • Personally test new outbound approaches, prospecting signals and sales messaging.
  • Evaluate results and implement successful outbound strategies across the wider team.
  • Audit the entire SDR process and identify opportunities to improve tooling, sequencing, data quality, targeting and team workflows.
  • Develop and manage the outbound signals strategy using intent data, job-change triggers and keyword monitoring.
  • Utilise intent data from platforms such as G2 and HubSpot to create more focused outreach campaigns.
  • Manage email and LinkedIn cadences and sequencing.
  • Balance high-volume prospecting with manually personalised, high-value outreach.
  • Manage requests from the Customer Success and Marketing teams for data and analysis.
  • Report on team performance, pipeline contribution and outbound experiment results to sales leadership.
  • Develop and continuously improve onboarding processes, training materials and operational documentation.
  • Utilise and optimise the existing technology stack, including LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Lemlist, Linked Helper, HubSpot, G2, Apify, Chili Piper, Canva, Notion and Google Workspace.
  • Maintain and develop the documented end-to-end outbound process and associated training materials.
  • Report directly to the VP Revenue.
