I am looking for someone with an extensive background in food manufacturing, ideally within short shelf life and a high care environment. Ideally, 5 years within a Technical Manager position. It’s a big busy factory, so keen for someone to be able to hit the ground running. They need someone who has been a Technical Manager before; they will not consider someone stepping up from a Quality Manager position.
Day to day dealing with 7 retailers including M&S and Tesco. You will:
- Manage ongoing NPD projects from factory trial to launch.
- Ensure all new lines being added into the business comply with regulations.
- Make decisions on stock that has been made out of specification and decide whether to reject and not send the product.
- Conduct investigation and reporting (root cause analysis etc).
About the Role:
- Develop TSM into a step up/step down role.
- Develop QA's - clear training plan in place for professional courses to support the role i.e. HACCP, Food Hygiene, Internal auditing.
- Embed a culture of customer satisfaction, to include internal and external customers.
- Manage Technical action plans at site level.
- Site HACCP Team Leader.
- Manage service supplier relationship for the site - i.e. pest control.
- Ensure Supplier Approval is maintained up to date for all suppliers to site.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Working background at a senior level in the food production sector, including experience working with retail clients and in a customer-facing role.
- Previous management/team leader experience of a technical and/or quality team.
- Level 4 HACCP Lead Audit experience.
- Experience of devising a technical management system from scratch that ensures food safety and quality.
