LGV Class C Driver – Waste & Recycling Operations
Location: Exeter, Devon
Salary: From £15.58 Per Hour
Contract Type: Temporary / Full-Time
Join our Client\’s dedicated Waste & Recycling team and help keep our city clean and safe. We’re looking for a responsible, reliable, and motivated 7.5 T Driver to operate waste collection vehicles and supervise a small crew on daily collection rounds.
What You’ll Be Doing
Driving and loading LGV vehicles on scheduled waste and recycling collection routes
Supervising up to 3 crew members and helping to maintain high performance
Using in-cab technology to receive updates, report issues, and log completed work
Ensuring your vehicle is safe and roadworthy, reporting any defects promptly
Following all Health & Safety procedures, Road Traffic laws, and tachograph regulations
Supporting the team by assisting with loading bins and sacks when needed
Responding to service disruptions (e.g. severe weather) and adjusting working days if required
What You’ll Need
Essential:
Full UK Driving Licence
LGV Class C Licence
Driver CPC qualification
Digital Tachograph Card
Basic literacy and numeracy
Good communication and timekeeping
Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling safely
Flexible, dependable, and committed to safe working practices
Desirable:
NVQ Level 2 in Waste Operations
HIAB Licence
Experience using mechanical lifting equipment
Familiarity with the Exeter area
Previous supervisory experience
