We are hiring multiple Public and Green Space Operatives to support the upkeep and cleanliness of public spaces. This is a varied, active role suited to individuals who enjoy working outdoors and take pride in maintaining local environments.
Working Hours: Shifts start between 05:00 – 07:00, finish between 13:00 – 18:00, and depend on a rota based on 3–5 days out of 7, including 1 weekend day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Litter picking and emptying bins across designated areas
- Cleaning public areas including streets and pathways, car parks, public toilets
- Removing small graffiti and fly‑posting
- Weed removal and general maintenance tasks
- Carrying out basic inspections and reporting issues
- Identifying work for specialist teams (e.g. grounds maintenance, deep cleaning)
- Reporting environmental issues such as fly tipping, damaged infrastructure, abandoned vehicles
- Completing basic documentation and daily logs
- Working safely and following all council procedures
About You:
- Full, clean UK manual driving licence (Category B)
- Flexible approach to shifts and duties
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Strong awareness of health & safety
Additional Information:
Full training provided across multiple service areas. Work may include car parks, city centre routes, toilets and deep cleaning operations.
