About the Role: We are seeking 5 reliable, physically fit Bottling Operatives to join a prestigious vineyard near Hailsham for a 2-week bottling project. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will help load, bottle, and package wine for storage and distribution. This role involves hard, fast-paced physical work outdoors, suitable for someone who enjoys being active, working in a team, and isn’t afraid of dirt and sweat.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load empty bottles onto the bottling line and pack finished bottles into cages for storage
- Operate bottling machinery under supervision, following instructions carefully
- Ensure accurate filling, sealing, and labelling of wine bottles
- Monitor product quality and maintain cleanliness of the working area
- Adhere to all hygiene, health & safety, and handling procedures
- Work cooperatively as part of a 5-person team to maintain efficiency and productivity
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous bottling or manufacturing experience (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to follow instructions and operate machinery safely
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Physical stamina to lift, carry, and stand for long periods
- Team player attitude with clear communication and reliability
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather (under cover provided)
Important Notes:
- Full 2-week availability is essential as the work is time-sensitive and relies on all 5 team members showing up daily
- Reliability and punctuality are critical; delays or absences will impact the team’s flow and balance
- The work is conducted outdoors under shelter, so you must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions
Breaks include: Morning: 15 mins, Lunch: 30 mins, Afternoon: 15 mins (times may vary based on bottling progress)
