Quality Engineer Our client is a precision engineering company providing high-quality vacuum products and services for customers in the science and semiconductor industry. They are currently looking for a Quality Engineer to join their team. At their new, purpose-built manufacturing facility near Hailsham, they have entered an exciting new phase in their development as they embark on an ambitious expansion program. Their products are used at NASA, the European Space agency and the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. The main requirements and employee accountabilities are: Understand customer requirements and industry best practice to develop a strategy for improving the quality of all products Lead co-ordinate root cause analysis of quality issues relating to product, purchased parts and customer complaints to install permanent solutions and prevent re-occurrence To own the RMA process, ensuring that customer feedback and is driven to the highest standards of service To manage the administration of the internal quality process (NCR, CAR) to ensure speed of containment, corrective action, of root cause and resolution of issues Working as a hands on member of the Quality team to deliver the outcomes Assist with supplier selection through robust qualification inclusive of aligning process capabilities and ensuring Quality Assurance practices are in place The essential skills/experience required for this role are: Experience in the use of Continuous Improvement tools & techniques Structured, organised approach to work providing a consisted/detail approach to problem solving Five years’ experience working in a similar manufacturing environment and possess a good understanding of using Quality and Process management tools and methodology, including 5S/6S, flowcharts, VSM, Kaizen, Pareto, QCPC, 8D, Cause & Effect, Ishikawa, 5 whys etc. The skills and experience we would like the employee in this role to have are: Using CMM or Faro Arm devices and a range of metrology equipment typically used in machine shop environments Previous experience of working in vacuum science would be advantageous Required Qualifications: Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer Qualified to ONC/HNC level in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing or relevant Quality professional qualification BENEFITS: 25 days plus bank holidays (some holiday may be needed for Christmas shutdown) Company pension scheme employee 3% employer 6% Life Insurance 4* annual salary rising to 6* if join the company pension Occupational Health checks provided including an annual health check for all employees Occupational Sick Pay (dependant on length of service 1-3 weeks full pay) Annual eye check and assistance towards prescription glasses or safety glasses Finish at 12.00pm on a Friday
