For over 60 years, our client has been driving innovation in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) technology, supporting cutting-edge research across the globe. From NASA and the European Space Agency to CERN, our high-precision products are trusted by world-leading institutions and researchers to deliver results.
We are now recruiting for a Production Engineer Graduate to assist in the NPI process and to help define our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development and maintaining manufacturing routes and BOMs in ERP system.
- Support quoting process with technical input and accurate cost estimates.
- Assist with design and manufacturing to optimize new product introduction.
- Assist identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Support with the creation and maintenance of work instructions and process documentation.
- Gain product knowledge and experience of manufacturing processes relating to UHV components and assemblies.
- Assist in training for other staff members in the use of ERP system.
- Support the review of ECN requests and completion of ECN actions.
- Provide support with 8D and NCR investigations by conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist with the design of Vacuum Chambers, creation of 3D CAD models and 2D production drawings.
- Support in the review of customer chamber drawings for build-to-print designs.
- Assist with the design of fixtures required for production manufacturing processes.
- Contribute to the completion of DFMEA and PFMEA in accordance with PPAP.
- Employ copy exact principles and controls where applicable.
- Provide support with customers and suppliers.
In order to be successful in this role it is essential that you have:
- Proven experience in the engineering field.
- Experience with CAD software and a proficiency in MS office.
- A degree or an HNC in engineering.
- The ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
- An open-minded attitude towards new ideas.
- Experience as a hands-on doer with the skills to assemble small and large complex assemblies.
