JOB DESCRIPTION / PERSON SPECIFICATION

School Cleaning Supervisor – 5pm to 8pm (Monday to Friday) – 25 h hours per week

Must have an enhanced DBS on the update service – essential. Must drive as not on any public transport routes

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and reliable Cleaning Supervisor to oversee their evening cleaning team within a school in Robertsbridge.

This is a hands‑on supervisory position where you will work alongside the cleaning team while taking responsibility for maintaining consistently high standards of cleanliness throughout the school and ensuring each shift runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, support, and work alongside the evening cleaning team.
• Carry out cleaning duties alongside the team to maintain high standards.
• Allocate cleaning tasks and ensure all designated areas are cleaned thoroughly and on time.
• Clean classrooms, communal areas, corridors, washrooms, and other designated areas as required.
• Monitor cleaning standards throughout the school and address any issues promptly.
• Ensure cleaning products and equipment are used safely and stored correctly.
• Identify and report any cleaning, maintenance, or staffing issues to the appropriate person.
• Complete end‑of‑shift checks to ensure all required areas and tasks have been completed.
• Support the team in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is reliable, organised, and confident in a supervisory role, with a hands‑on approach to their work. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining high standards and be comfortable leading a team while also carrying out cleaning duties themselves.

You will ideally:

• Have previous experience in a cleaning or cleaning supervisory role.
• Be confident supervising and supporting a small team.
• Have a good eye for detail and take pride in the quality of your work.
• Be reliable, punctual, and well organised.
• Be able to allocate tasks and ensure work is completed to the required standard.
• Have a good understanding of health, safety, and hygiene requirements.
• Be proactive in identifying and reporting issues.
• Be comfortable working independently while also being a supportive team member.
• Have a professional and approachable manner when working within a school environment.
• Be flexible and willing to get involved with the cleaning duties alongside the team
