The Opportunity
We are working on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. You will lead the finance function, provide strategic guidance to the leadership team and ensure robust financial control and compliance across the business.
Job Purpose/Primary Objective
- Leading the Finance function.
- Ensure accurate reflection of the business activities according to the agreed accounting standards
- Be part of the management team and provide strategic guidance to operations, sales, engineering, the MD and the board
- Identifying areas of strengths and addressing improvement opportunities
Key Accountabilities
- Timely submission of the statutory returns
- Providing the reporting package on the 5th day of the following month
- Treasury management of the weekly cash flow update & hedging
- Accounting, analysis, reporting and financial control of the company
- Management of standard costing system, forecasting, budgeting, absorption and provisioning calculation
- Provide leadership to the finance team and the company
- Responsible for all taxation – Corp, VAT, PAYE, duties & international
- Responsible for forecasting & budgets
- Responsible for all internal financial controls.
- Responsible for the companies Insurance coverage and claims.
- Preparation of audit file and liaison with external auditors.
- Lead business improvement projects as well as enhancing transparency to business processes.
About You
You are a qualified accountant with strong manufacturing finance experience and the ability to lead teams while driving continuous improvement.
- Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA accountant.
- Minimum 7 years submitting statutory returns.
- Minimum 5 years manufacturing finance using standard costing.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX desirable.
- High work ethic, analytical mindset and leadership capability.
