Overview

A forward-thinking and well-respected Chartered Accountancy firm in the heart of Tunbridge Wells is offering an exciting opportunity for Tax Apprentice to join their expanding department.

You’ll work closely with the Tax Manager, whilst also gaining exposure to the wider team of staff and Tax Partner. From day one, you’ll become a valued part of a supportive and expanding professional environment.

This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) and comes with a strong benefits package, including pension contributions, four weeks holiday plus Bank Holidays, private medical scheme access, and full study support.

Salary is dependent on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed.

Duties

  • Learn to prepare Self Assessment tax returns with direct client contact
  • Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients and report to the Tax Manager
  • Gain exposure to Private Client, Business and Corporate taxes
  • Support colleagues across the Tax Department, working alongside both staff and Partners
  • Progress your professional knowledge through ATT studies, with potential to move on to CTA in future

What we're looking for

A successful candidate for this role will be diligent and able to demonstrate strong communication, numerical, and organisational skills. You should be confident working independently as well as collaboratively. IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel, would be an advantage. There is no requirement to have a specific accounting & finance degree but strong grades in Maths and English would be a minimum.
