A newly created role within a growing top-tier company. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected professional services organisation. The position is pivotal within the finance team, responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and robustness of financial reporting, financial controls, and partnership accounting processes.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and CFO, you will take ownership of:
- Statutory accounts preparation
- External audit management
- Partnership accounting
- Financial analysis
You will also help strengthen reporting capabilities and drive continuous improvement across the finance function.
Duties include:
- Leading the preparation of annual LLP statutory accounts
- Managing the external audit process and acting as the key contact for auditors
- Supporting the monthly financial close process
- Reviewing and posting complex journals including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
- Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and supporting financial records
- Ensuring timely completion of all balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigating and resolving reconciling items and unusual account movements
- Preparing supporting schedules for monthly management accounts
- Delivering detailed variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods
- Supporting the Finance Manager and CFO with financial commentary and insight
- Taking ownership of partner capital accounts, current accounts, drawings, and tax reserves
- Assisting with year-end partner profit allocations and partnership accounting activities
- Reviewing payroll journals and reconciling payroll-related balance sheet accounts
- Identifying and implementing finance process improvements and reporting enhancements
- Supporting finance systems upgrades and automation initiatives
- Providing guidance and oversight to junior finance team members
- Collaborating closely with wider finance functions including commercial finance, credit control, and cashiering teams
What we're looking for:
A successful candidate will be ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, with exposure to partnership accounting being ideal. Experience within a professional services environment is desirable, and strong Excel skills are essential.
