Our client, a widely recognised and highly respected law firm based in Brighton, is seeking an ambitious Litigation Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its expanding Litigation department. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a firm renowned for delivering exceptional legal services and fostering a supportive, collaborative working environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced senior specialist, gaining exposure to high-quality Contentious Probate and TOLATA matters while also having the opportunity to develop their own specialist caseload in areas such as property litigation, contractual disputes, professional negligence, or other commercial litigation disciplines.
The Role:
You will manage a varied caseload from instruction through to conclusion, providing expert legal advice and delivering excellent client service throughout. Key responsibilities include:
- Advising clients across a broad range of litigation matters
- Managing cases in accordance with the Pre-Action Protocol
- Drafting Letters of Claim, Letters of Response and related correspondence
- Conducting negotiations and alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and settlement agreements
- Issuing and progressing court proceedings
- Instructing counsel and expert witnesses where appropriate
- Developing and managing your own caseload alongside supporting senior members of the team
- Assisting with business development and helping to strengthen existing client relationships
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the department where appropriate
About You:
Applications are welcomed from Solicitors or Legal Executives qualified in England & Wales with Litigation experience. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong technical knowledge across litigation
- Experience in Contentious Probate and/or TOLATA matters (desirable)
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Strong drafting and advocacy abilities
- A proactive and commercial approach to problem solving
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- A collaborative attitude with the confidence to manage matters independently
