A successful Chartered Accountancy practice in Sittingbourne is looking to welcome a NEW Accounts Assistant to their team! The firm has a loyal client base, an approachable and collaborative team culture, and a focus on quality work across accounts, tax, and advisory services.
This position will be varied and hands-on - preparing accounts for a range of clients, supporting with VAT, bookkeeping and basic tax tasks, and liaising directly with clients. You'll be encouraged to take ownership of your work and build on your initial responsibilities, with great support from senior staff and opportunities to grow.
Salary is up to £35,000 depending on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed.
Duties:- Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Assist with VAT returns and quarterly bookkeeping
- Support with basic tax computations and returns
- Liaise with clients to collect records, resolve queries and build strong relationships
- Work closely with managers and partners on client assignments
- Use cloud-based accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks etc.)
This role would suit someone with UK practice experience who is confident preparing accounts files, has a good understanding of bookkeeping and VAT, and is keen to contribute to a friendly, motivated team.
