Overview: Test Solutions and Development Manager – Newbridge. Permanent role, Mon to Thurs 8am–5pm, Fri 8am–1pm. Competitive salary plus benefits and progression opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand customer technical requirements and enhance and develop test specifications accordingly.
  • Develop test specifications if not provided by the customer and propose test solution services to existing and new customers.
  • Evaluate and restructure, in conjunction with the Production Test Manager, the Test Function; manage and motivate staff against agreed roles and responsibilities, as documented within each JRD.
  • Continual review and re‑assessment of test staff JRD aligned to changing needs of the Company and its Customers.
  • Manage and develop the Company test service offering and capability to meet Quality, Capacity and Cost criteria, ensuring total customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate with existing and new customers to understand their future technology roadmap and ensure provision of required capability and resources to deliver sustainable test solutions while maintaining profitability.
  • Document the outcomes of the role with a defined Test Strategy for each customer, existing and new.
  • Aim for 100% on‑time delivery of customer test strategies to meet agreed specifications; ensure proposed test strategies are revenue generating and profitable by reducing cost and waste.
  • Address job scope: understand customer technical requirements; enhance and develop test specifications; evaluate and re‑structure the Test Function; manage and motivate staff against agreed roles; continual review of JRD; manage test strategies and costings to meet requirements.
  • Assess and deploy new or emerging test techniques and technologies.
  • Undertake line management responsibility to ensure formal performance planning reviews are conducted where applicable against agreed JRD.
  • Ensure compliance with company operating values and procedures at all times, including quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Essential: Minimum of HNC or equivalent in an electromechanical or electronic discipline.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.
  • Proven track record of process efficiency improvement.
  • Proven electronic manufacturing experience (including surface mount, through hole, assembly, test).

Hours and Benefits:

  • Hours of work are 8am until 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am until 1pm Friday.
  • Benefits include pension of 7.5%, DIS 6x salary and private healthcare for the employee, their partner and any dependents.
