Hinkley Point C, Somerset

Due to additional scope secured on the HPC project, we are recruiting eight experienced Coded Welders to join one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects. All successful candidates will undertake a BS EN ISO 9606 coded welding qualification as part of the trade test.

Welding Scope:

  • 111 – SMAW (MMA)
  • 136 – MAG (Flux-Cored / FCAW)
  • Fillet and Butt welds
  • All positions (flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead)

Candidates must demonstrate strong experience across these processes and positional welding on their CV.

Pay and Benefits:

  • £29.34 per hour
  • Overtime paid at 1.4x for hours over 38 (Monday–Friday) and first 4 hours Saturday
  • Overtime paid at 1.8x for remaining Saturday hours and all Sunday
  • 10.5-hour shifts
  • 10/4 rotation
  • £355.67 per week accommodation allowance

Requirements:

  • Time-served or apprentice trained
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Welding or Fabrication
  • ACE Card (Pipe or Plate)
  • CCNSG Card
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant industry
  • Competency-based interview

All candidates must be willing to undertake trade tests. The college is a theory test and practical test consisting of a square box section welded to plate in the PH position in MMA. Avonmouth is a Practical trade test consisting of four tests: MMA fillet weld in PF and PD and a FCAW fillet weld in PF and PD.
