Are you an Electronics Test Engineer looking to work with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We're recruiting on behalf of a leading Government Contract Electronics Manufacturer for a Test Solutions & Development Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop innovative production test solutions, work with leading technologies and play a key role in supporting new product introductions from concept through to manufacture.
The Role
Working within the Engineering team, you’ll be responsible for developing, implementing and continuously improving electronic test solutions for both new and existing products. You’ll work closely with customers, production, quality and engineering teams to ensure robust, cost-effective testing that delivers exceptional product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement functional test solutions for electronic products
- Create and enhance test specifications from customer requirements
- Support new product introduction (NPI) projects
- Improve existing test processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Investigate and introduce new test technologies and methodologies
- Support production with technical test issues and root cause investigations
- Work closely with customers to understand testing requirements
- Produce technical documentation including test specifications and procedures
- Ensure all test solutions meet quality, cost and delivery objectives
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience within electronic manufacturing
- Experience developing or supporting electronic test solutions
- Good understanding of PCB assembly, SMT and electronic production processes
- Strong fault-finding and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving ability
Desirable
- Experience of functional testing, ICT or boundary scan
- Knowledge of LabVIEW, NI TestStand or automated test equipment
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement
