Production Utility Operator – Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing

Location: Newbridge, South Wales

Type: Permanent Full Time – Mon to Thurs

Salary: £28000

Main Purpose of Role

  • Role out the direction/plan issued by the Cell Leader or Supervisor.

Outcomes of Role

  • Satisfied internal and external customers.
  • Achieve and maintain acceptable quality levels, always striving for zero defect.
  • Clean and tidy work cells.
  • A highly motivated and well trained team within each cell.

Reporting Structure

  • Production Coordinator
  • Production Cell Leader
  • Production Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Organise daily work for operators.
  • Understand cell output requirements on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in line with the production plan for that cell.
  • Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the cell.
  • Assist with the job training of operators within the cells.
  • Ability to undertake certain Syspro bookings.
  • Cover for cell leader (short term) e.g. Holiday periods.
  • Capable of assessing and recording spoilage, in order to reduce costs.
  • Ensure that all company operating values and compliance procedures are adhered to at all times, including quality management, health and safety, legal stipulation, environmental policies and general duty of care.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary.

Person Specification – Essential requirements

  • Basic numeracy and literacy.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • 2 years’ experience within manufacturing.

Hours: 6.45am until 5pm Monday to Thursday

Other benefits: pension, cashplan healthcare plus DIS 6x salary.
