RSW are looking to recruit a Senior Buyer/Buyer for a permanent role with their client, a specialist manufacturer based in Cwmbran. My client is open to negotiation with regards to the seniority level and salary based on skills and experience.
- Review Buy list daily. Ensuring RFQ’s are sent and PQ are reviewed and orders placed in a timely manner.
- Ensuring problem parts for launch are communicated and escalated as a priority.
- Running and ordering to the buy list, supporting other team members.
- Looking at long term solutions for problem materials.
- Reviewing the Open PO report to push out any orders that are coming in earlier than they should and pull in orders required that are not arriving in time.
- Investigation of market trends.
- Assisting with ad hoc buying which comes into the purchasing inbox.
- Costings, loading pricing into costings when they come through (not especially frequent).
- Supporting other team members as required.
- Supporting Sales & Logistics, shipping when needed.
- Negotiation of Fixed pricing and stock holding at suppliers.
- Reviewing the component obsolescence log and arranging samples for trial as needed.
- Holding supplier meetings as and when needed. Creating Supplier performance data.
- KPI reports.
- Must have ERP/ MRP experience (They are currently moving to a new ERP system so there is a need for information to be entered into 2 systems).
- Excellent communication skills, including negotiation and problem solving.
- Keen to implement improvements and have a can-do attitude.
- Be willing to support other areas of the business when needed.
- This position would suit someone who wants to make a difference and enjoys being involved.
They are currently trailing a 4-day working week Monday to Thursday. Start times are between 7am and 8am and finish 5pm and 6pm with 15 min options during these hour slots. 30-minute lunch break. If working a 5 day week, the business closes at 12pm on a Friday.
Salary - Negotiable depending on experience plus progression opportunities. Pension. On site parking. 23 days plus bank holidays (inclusive of Christmas shutdown).
